Bothrops asper ~~~ Fer-de-lance
First and foremost is the Fer-de-Lance in my opinion the most dangerous snake in Panama. It is responsible for the more venomous bits of any speices in Panama years after year. There is no place in Panama that they don’t exist.
Bothrops punctata ~~~ Chocoan Lancehead
This guys Is in the same family as the Fed de lance. But it is only found in the Darien area. This snake is rare in Panama.

Bothriechis laterals ~~~Side-Striped Palm Viper
This species is found in the Bocas del Toro, Chirique, Cocle, Ngobe-Bugle, Panama and Veraguas Provinces. It is an Arboreal species and spends most of it time in trees. They reach a length of about 3 feet.

This species is found in the Bocas del Toro and Chirique Provinces. It is an Arboreal species and spends most of it time in trees. They reach a length of about 3 feet and rare in Panama.
Atropoides mexicanus ~~~ C/A Jumping Viper
This species is found in Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Cocle, Ngobe-Bugle, Panama and Veraguas Provinces. It can reach a length of 3 feet and about as round as a baseball.
Atropoides picadoi ~~~ Picadoi Jumping Viper
This species is only found in Chiriqui province in Panama. It can reach a length of 3.5 feet long. It is rare in Panama.

Bothriechis schlegelii ~~~ Eyelash Viper
,This specie is found in Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Cocle, Colon, Darien, Panama, Veraguas province in Panama. It can reach a length of 3 foot long. It is common in Panama. They stay trees and shrubs, keep that in mind if you do any yard work.
Porthidium nasuta ~ ~~ Rain Forest Hog-nosed Pitviper
This species is found in Bocas-del-Toro, Cycle, Darien, Ngobe-Bugle, Panama & Veraguas. It grows to 2 feet. It does not stay on the Pacific side the county in the Western part.
Prothidium lansbergii ~~~ Lanberg’s Hog-nosed Pitviper
This species is very small about 20 inches and has different colors and patterns. Found in Bocas del Toro, Chirique, Cocle, Ngobe-Bugle, Panama Provinces.

Prorthidium Volcanicum ~~~ Costa Rica Hog-nosed Pitviper
Another small snake up to 2 foot. This guys is only found in Chiriqui Province in Panama.

Lachesis acrochorda ~~~ Chocoan Bustmaster
This species is the largest of the Bustmasters, it can reach 10 feet. The Bushmaster is the largest Pit Viper in the world. This snake is only found in the Darien area.

Lachesis stenophrys ~~ Central Am. Bushmaster This Bushmaster goes up 8 to 8.5 feet long. They can be found in Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Cocle, Colon, Darien, Panama, Veraguas. They are said to be uncommon in Panama.

Lachesis melanocephala ~Black Head Bushmaster
to This is the smallest of the Bushmaster group. They max out at 7.5 feet but they pack a lethal punch with the venom they carry around. This species is only found have a very small range in Western Panama on the small peninsula at the border with Costa Rica.

This species is only found in Chiriqui province in Panama. It can reach a length of 2.5 feet long. It is common in Panama.

Micrurus clarki ~~~ Clark’s Coral Snake
. This species are found in Chiriqui, Colon, Darien, Panama, and Veraaguas Provinces. They are rated as uncommon in Panama. They can reach 3 feet in length. They have a very small range in Western Panama on the small peninsula at the border with Costa Rica. Also go into a little bit of Chiriqui province.

This species is found in Bocas del Toro and Chiriqui Provinces. They are rated as common in Panama. They can reach a little over 4 feet in length.

This species is only found in the Darien Province in Panama. It grows to a length of 3 feet.

This species is only found in the Bocas del Toro and Nogbe-Bugle area. It grows to 3 foot long, it is uncommon in Panama.
Micrurus nigrocinctus ~~ Central Am Coral Snake
This species is very common I have come across several in Panama. It grows to about 3.5 feet long. They are found thought out the country.
Micrurus dissoleucus ~~~ Panama Pygmy Coral Snake
This guy is real small it can max out at 15 inches. This guy got me excited just look at the color pattern and brightness of the colors. I can wait untilI find one of these guys in the wild. But it may not happen they are rated uncommon. That may cut my changes but that won’t stop me from trying!
It has been found in Chiriqui, Cocle, Herrera and Panama Province.

Micrurus stewarti ~~~ Panama Coral Snake
This specie is only found in Cocle, Colon and Panama provinces. It reach a length of 2.5 feet and is rate Rare in Panama and not found elsewhere. The snake in the photo is the first Coral Snake I found in 2007.
Micrurus ancoralis ~~~ Regal Coral Snake
This species is the largest Coral Snake in Panama, reaching 5 Feet. It is only found in the Darien area.

Hydrophis platurus ~~~ Pelagic Seasnake
This is the only Sea-snake found in the Americas it can grow to 3.5 feet long. And they are only on the Pacific side of the country.
